Pattie Anderson Photography

Welcome to the web site of Pattie Anderson Photography, based in North Charleston, South Carolina.

To see my photos, check out the pages linked at the left to get started; my older photo site is on Fotki. I have a few albums of photos on flickr. In 2018, I started a Facebook page for my sports photography that you can view here, which is where I now post most of my sports photos, until I get a new photo hosting site. I have a WordPress blog that I created primarily to make it easier to find photos of specific sports or teams that you may find easier to navigate than Facebook, that is here. My personal and travel photos have been mostly posted to Facebook on my personal page (though most team sports photos are posted publicly, and my profile allows followers).

I was the team photographer for the Charleston Colonials (USPHL) junior hockey teams and the Charleston Battery (USL Championship) team, and while I'm not an official photographer for the South Carolina Stingrays (ECHL), I often shoot their games as well. Prior to March 2018, I lived in the Richmond, Virginia, metro area, where I was the team photographer for the Richmond Generals (USPHL) junior hockey team from inception through the 2016-17 season, was the team photographer for the Richmond Renegades hockey team (Southern Professional Hockey League), was one of the two team photographers for the Richmond RiverDogs (United Hockey League), the team photographer for the last few years of the ECHL Richmond Renegades, and was one of the team photographers for the Richmond Kickers (United Soccer League D-2/USL Pro) though the 2017 season. Links to those photos for the current or immediate past seasons are to the left, too. If you're looking for older photos, follow those links and you should be able to find prior seasons by navigating the Fotki site.

My photos have appeared in the Richmond Times-Dispatch, the websites for the teams listed above, their respective league websites, team promotional materials and giveaways, the book Broph: On and Off the Ice With John Brophy, Richmond yellow pages, ECHL 2002-03 Guide and Record Book, Black & Red United website, Neighborhood Sports magazine, Building Stone magazine, The Fort Lee Traveller, The Blue Ridger, The Scimitar, Stoney Creek News, The (Bermuda) Royal Gazette, The (Charlottesville) Daily Progress, Just Hockey, UHL team programs, ProHockeynews.com, IntheCrease.com, cffhockey.org, and numerous fan sites.

I began taking photos with a 35mm point and shoot camera at Renegades games in the 1994-95 season. A few years later, I began writing for Just Hockey magazine and IntheCrease.com and struggled to find a consistent photographer to provide photos for my articles. In 1999, my husband bought me my first SLR so I could take my own photos. Now I usually provide photos for other writer's articles. Several thousand dollars later in equipment, film, processing fees, and scanning, my kit now contains Canon 7D Mark II and 7D (original) DSLR bodies and a set of Canon "L" series lenses. My favorite lenses for shooting sports are the 70-200 f/2.8 L II IS and 300 f/4.0 L lenses.
